Natalie Michelle Wiegan

8/20/1988 - 4/18/2006

Natalie was born at Meriter Hospital in Madison, WI at around 9am to Barry Wiegan and Wendy Spragia-Wiegan. She weighed 7lbs, 9ozs, and was 20 and 1/2 inches long. Natalie went to Oregon schools until the third grade. She attended Karate America when she was 8 or 9, and made it to a green belt. In 1997, the family moved to McFarland, across from Lake Waubesa on Morris Park Road. Natalie loved swimming in the lake, sailing with her mom, and driving the golf cart up and down the hill. In December of 2001, Wendy died from breast cancer. The following spring, Natalie and her younger sister Briana attended Camp Hope near Rosholt, WI, and later that year, both went to Camp Matawa near Campbellsport. Natalie really enjoyed Camp Matawa, and her last year their she was a councelor in training, and worked with little kids. Natalie attended McFarland High School, where she was a member of the girls swim team. She loved swimming, was a great teammate, and always gave it her best. Her best event was the 50 freestyle. Shortly after getting her driver's license, Natalie got a job at Menards. She quickly moved up from cashier to the service desk. Many of her friends and dad's friends would seek Natalie out at Menards just to see her smiling face. Natalie also worked part time at Hollister's, one of her favorite places to shop (she took the job just so she could get a discount!). Natalie suffered from depression, particularly the last six months of her life. She was admitted to the Meriter Youth Crisis Center at the end of November, 2005, and was treated for nine days. She was put on anti-depressants and began counciling. After a couple months, she gave up on both. Natalie traveled many places in her short life, including, houseboating in northern Minnesota where she found a very old and rare spearhead, Colorado and the Black Hills of South Dakota, several trips to Florida and Gulf Shores, Alabama, New York City in 2002, Turks and Cacaois in 2005, and Cayman Islands in 2006 two weeks prior to her death. Pictured to the left is the Disney character Stitch, Natalie's constant companion. Natalie was loved immensely by her father, sister and countless friends and family members, and is deeply missed by everyone.
